Accountants' professional liability is a severity-driven line, so pricing each account accurately and fairly is critical. That precision required a lot of time for underwriters, and much of that time was going into assembling submissions instead of underwriting the accounts. CAMICO wanted more scalability, consistency, and speed, without pulling its underwriters further from the craft.
Submissions arrived through several channels and varied widely in structure, so getting one ready for a decision was different work most of the time. Pre-quote work was spread across 10 or more systems and data sources. Underwriters reviewed each page of the submissions to find what they needed, and license and external research were assembled by hand in separate places before it could be used. Prioritization was challenging, so the submissions handled first weren't always the ones most vital.

Pibit Underwriting Platform integrated with the existing CRM, policy administration, rating, and document management systems through APIs, so established workflows stayed in place and pre-quote analysis moved into one platform.

The Pibit underwriting platform has brought greater organization and efficiency to our underwriting process by identifying missing information early, enhancing the submission with external data, performing a preliminary analysis, and presenting submissions in a structured format. For less complex accounts, underwriters can often complete their review and generate a quote in less than an hour, while more intricate accounts that once required several hours or a full day can now be completed in a fraction of the time they previously took. Most importantly, these efficiencies allow our underwriters to focus their time on evaluating risk and making sound underwriting decisions.
